Aligned with Rice’s Momentous strategic plan, the Office of Digital Learning and Strategy is launching a new initiative: Accelerating Responsible AI for Education at Rice. The program is designed to spark innovation, strengthen our faculty community, and position Rice as a leader in the evolving age of AI.

Responsible AI Statement

We will position Rice University as a global leader in the development, application, and understanding of responsible AI, advancements in computing, and disruptive technologies. We will do this by fostering cutting-edge research on foundational AI and machine learning, developing interdisciplinary applications of AI to create innovative solutions that integrate behavioral and societal impacts in collaboration with industry and nonprofit partners, leading in ethical advancement and understanding of these applications, and creating distinctive, cross-disciplinary educational programs in responsible AI to guide ethical advancements from technological disruptions.

Faculty and staff can participate in AI-related training offered through campus workshops, on-demand courses, and one-on-one support. These opportunities aim to build familiarity with AI tools and support informed use in instructional and operational settings.
